or

  • Air Dry Clay
  • Green Paint
  • Gold Paint
  • X-Acto Knife
  • Foam brush
  • Lia Griffith Dish Template
  • Detail Brush
  • Sandpaper

Instructions:

    1. Roll out your clay using a rolling pin. Be sure not to roll it too thin so it will not break once dry. Keep the thickness of about 3-5 cm.

    2. Place the larger template on top of the rolled out clay and use X-Acto knife to cut through the lines to cut out the leaf shape.

    3. Remove the template and excess clay, cutting as needed. Continue using X-Acto knife to carve out the details, then clean up the edges. Use your finger to smooth any rough edges.

    4. Repeat to create a second smaller bowl with the second template. Allow the clay leaves to dry upside down over a round bowl for 24 hours.

    5. Once dry use sandpaper to smooth rough edges. (For more tips on working with Air Dry Clay check out our blog article > Air Dry Clay Tips & Tricks.)

    6. Use the foam brush to paint entire bowls green, use the detailed brush to paint crevices and hard to reach areas.

    7. Allow green paint to dry then line the edges of the bowls with the gold pen. Use your bowls for jewelry, keys etc.

    8. You will have lots of leftover clay, see more blog posts for ideas and templates to create air dry clay monstera leaf earringsnecklace and other fun projects with your extra clay!
